Ramos Island is located 39 km off the SE coast of Santa Isabel Island. The island is 1.5 km long and contains a small islet and nine low rocks. The island is reported to be a prime fishing location.
Ramos Island was named by Krustenstern in 1824 who thought he had reached Malaita Island (then known as Ramos).
